  • When can I start planting in the spring?

    You can start planting peas as of March 17th. Annuals can be planted after the first frost or after approximately May 15th. Cold crops such as cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower can be planted after April 1st.

  • Do my plants need feeding?

    Yes, to keep your plants looking beautiful and healthy, we carry fertilizer as well as other plant-specific foods such as orchid feed for all of your plants' needs.

  • What plant zone is Northeast Connecticut?

    In Northeast Connecticut, our plant zone is scored 4-6.

  • What is the difference between perennials and annuals?

    Perennials will come back every year. Annuals will bloom all summer, then will die in the fall.

  • When is the best time to prune my fruit tree?

    The best time to prune a fruit tree is when it is dormant from January to March.

  • When should I prune my flowering shrubs?

    The general rule of thumb is to prune flowering shrubs just after they flower and their blooms have gone by.
