September Gardening


All annuals can continue to be dead headed to increase bloom duration, in order to protect annuals from potential frost you may cover them up at night. If your annuals are done blooming remove them and replace them with mums.


Several varieties of perennials bloom during September including Asters, Goldenrod, Russian Sage ,Crocus, Helenium, Sedums, and of course Mums! Continue to deadhead Salvia, Coneflower, Buddleias, and Dianthus. 


Don't miss out on beautiful blooming shrubs this season! Shrubs that bloom during September are Buddleias, Hydrangeas, and Spirea. To prolong the blooms on your Buddleia continue to dead head gone-by blooms.
