About Us

Ladd's Garden Center is a family owned business located in South Windham since 1977. What started as a high school project has turned into a life long passion for Lance and Carol Ladd. Lance and his father Raymond Ladd built their first greenhouse on Babcock Hill Road in South Windham, within 3 years they had built 3 greenhouses.

In 1981 we moved to the current location on route 32 (671 Windham Road) in South Windham. This greenhouse was built by Lance's grandfather in the late 1940's and was then called Shetucket Park Gardens.

Since the beginning, 38 years ago when we grew and sold annuals, perennials and vegetable plants grown from seeds started in our house under lights, to today, we now supply the local home owner and garden enthusiast with a ever-growing variety of annuals, perennials, vegetable starter plants, trees and shrubs.  You will also find small fruiting plants, fruit trees, unique garden statuary, garden fertilizer, insect control products and everything one would need for water gardening. We are also a destination gift shop for the fantasy lover with a unique selection of fairy gardeing accessories, plus dragons, gnomes, unicorns and more.
